Apartment Decorating Inspiration

I have become obsessed with decorating my apartment ever since I signed the lease two weeks ago. This is my first grown-up apartment and I didn’t have much furniture left over from college, so it was time to shop! Pinterest has become my best friend (it always was) and I have added tons of pictures to my decorating inspiration board.

I thought it would be fun to take a quick departure from the usual food posts to share some of my favorite inspiration pictures with you. Would you want to see a tour of my apartment once it is mostly decorated and I have all my furniture?

1. I love three main things about this room: the gallery wall, the lucite coffee table, and the gold floor lamp. I think I want to have a gallery wall somewhere in my apartment and across from my bed is a great place since I have a big wall with no large art to hang there. As for the lucite coffee table, my parents have convinced me that the lucite will scratch easily and start to look old. I found a glass coffee table in the same shape for the same price as the lucite tables I found online so I’m going with the glass instead. I can’t wait to see how it looks in my little living room!

2. I love everything about this room. I don’t know if I have the guts to put up a neon sign like this one, but I can definitely do the pops of color and gold accents.

3. I’m trying to keep a pretty neutral palette with pops of bright color, inspired by these kitchen barstools. If everything is white and grey except for things like pillows, rugs, and paint, then I can always switch to a new color if I get sick of the old ones without having to invest too much money in the change.

4. Although I won’t be painting all my walls, or using pinks and purples, I am in love with this room. My bedroom has a greyish-blue color from my rug and sheets. You guys- the rug I found is amazing! I got it for a really good price on Home Goods and it is very similar to the one pictured. I love the way it looks under my bed.

This is the neutral palette I went for in my room, but with a light tan bed frame instead of dark. I LOVE the ikat pillows in this photo and I’m hoping I can find some fun pillows or blankets when I’m back in Oaxaca this December.

I have always loved getting crafty, and I have a ton of DIY projects on my Pinterest that I want to start working on. Aside from this table and these curtains, I plan on tackling my DIY list with plants that I can scatter around my apartment. I especially want some fresh herbs that I can use in the kitchen!
