Welcome!
I’m Katie. Thanks for visiting my blog, 24 Carrot Life, a (mostly) healthy food blog that I started in January, 2013. For three years, I had wanted to start my own blog and finally got the courage to do it. Lesson learned- you just have to start!
I want 24 Carrot Life to be an example that eating healthy doesn’t have to be boring or too strict. I focus mostly on healthy recipes that don’t require too many ingredients and don’t take too long to prepare. Every now and then, you may see a decadent dessert or a not-so-healthy meal… everything in moderation, right?!
I grew up and went to college in Philadelphia, moved to Oaxaca, Mexico for ten-month research fellowship and then moved back home to Philly. Mexican food is one of my favorites, so many of my recipes are influenced by Mexican ingredients or flavors. While living in Mexico, I also found the largest whisk ever made.
I like to have fun too! I am by no means perfect, in life or in the kitchen, and I make lots of cooking mistakes that I also plan to share with you. So… let’s get started mixing up some 24 Carrot treats with what else but a huge whisk!
If you’re new to 24 Carrot Life, here’s a few posts to start with:
- The time I tried an elimination diet to cure my skin issues
- A recap of what I learned during the elimination diet
- A roundup of the Fiesta Fridays Mexican recipe series I did while living in Mexico
- What I learned in 2014 and some of the goals I set for 2015 (more to come on whether I stuck with them)
I’d love to hear from you! You can reach me at 24carrotlife@gmail.com. Let’s also hang out on Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Bloglovin’. And if you like what you see you can sign up on the sidebar to receive emails whenever I post something new (about twice a week).

I love to share my recipes! However, if you would like to use any content from 24 Carrot Life, please do not copy the recipe. Instead, link back to the original recipe as well as my site. You may use one image from each recipe.
