Maybe you’ve had fruit in your guacamole before, or maybe you haven’t. If you haven’t, then you should stop what you’re doing and go make these two fruity versions ASAP. Then, get back to me and tell me how amazing the combo is.
This would be another recipe that Daniel did not approve of. When I told him I was going to make guacamole with fruit in it he scoffed and mentioned how gross that would be. Well, I showed him! He’s kind of a guacamole purist. It’s ‘cuz he’s Mexican and all. I get it. Sometimes you just can’t mess with a classic recipe, but this is an exception. I’m happy to report that he totally loved both these recipes (mango took a little bit of a lead) and he polished off both bowls. I win.
I’m a sucker for the sweet and salty combination. Just a few ingredients are required for these stylish dips- perfectly ripe avocados, fresh mango and strawberries, jalapeño pepper, a red onion, and fresh cilantro. Add a LOT of lime juice, some salt and pepper, and you’ve got the fixins for some seriously good guac.
I would say this is a great recipe to make for parties. It’s not even a recipe, more like a combo and some guidelines. You will wow party guests with these two guacamole recipes, and you only have to spend a few minutes in the kitchen to make it happen. More time to enjoy the party, and the guacamole! Cheers to that.
- 1 large or 2 medium ripe avocados, peeled, cored and mashed
- 1 cup chopped fresh strawberries
- 1/2 jalapeño pepper, deveined and chopped
- 1/4 red onion, peeled and chopped
- juice of 2 limes
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 large or 2 medium ripe avocados, peeled, cored and mashed
- 1/2 mango, peeled and chopped
- 1/4 red onion, peeled and chopped
- juice of 2 limes
- handful of fresh cilantro, chopped
- salt and pepper, to taste
- For both guacamole recipes, combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix until combined. Add more salt, pepper, and lime juice if needed.
- Serve immediately with tortilla chips.

I’ve had mango guac but never strawberry guac! I’m gonna have to try it before I knock it cause I trust that you wouldn’t post anything less than delicious 🙂 Heading to a place in NYC that has pistachio guac next week. CANNOT WAIT.

Let me know what you think! I love that you already know what kind of guac the place you’re going to has. If you check the menu before you go places, then that’s it- we are absolutely soul mates!

Definitely making the strawberry guacamole this week. Guacamole happens to be my favorite food. I told this to someone once and they scoffed and said “Psh guacamole isn’t a food, it’s a spread.” Excuse me, but anything you can eat by the spoonful is a food.
Thanks for the recipes 🙂

This was my lunch two days in a row so it’s definitely a food. Guacamole amateurs…

Yaaa, I’d say guac is pretty much my facourite food ever. I often make it a small batch and just eat it with a spoon, all to myself. Hahaha. AVOCADOS 4 LIFE! I love the mango addition, sounds amazing. Thanks for sharing!

Ditto! I have to hold myself back when this stuff is around, which is why I rarely make a huge bowl of it because I can’t be stopped when chips are in my hands.
