My spring capsule wardrobe has come to a close and I’m prepping my summer capsule this weekend. I’m really excited to tackle another season (with fewer layering opportunities) and to make some changes to how I did things for the spring capsule. More to come on that soon!
Admittedly, this denim on denim outfit was from early May when I could actually get away with jeans and a long sleeve shirt (and maybe even a jacket). Oh how I miss those days! But I could see this same concept working great with shorts or a skirt.
I am a HUGE fan of the denim on denim look and have way too many inspiration pictures pinned to my Pinterest board to count. But, I finally figured out the trick to making this outfit look amazing so I just had to share. The key is to make sure that one of the items is a light wash while the other is a dark wash. And stick to just a top and bottom in denim, nothing more. You don’t want to look like Justin and Brittany at the American Music Awards after all.
I’ve had these boyfriend jeans from Gap and this chambray shirt from Madewell for years now and they have gotten tons of wear. Both were included in my spring capsule and these jeans make have to make another appearance in my summer wardrobe- we’ll see. Oh, and that amazing hat is from Equal Uprise, a company that sells hand crafted hats and accessories made by artisans Ecuador and Tunisia.
